During the development of a website and before its handed over to the client, we carry out the following tests.
- Test on various browsers and screen resolutions to ensure the website
works correctly:
- Websites are tested on Internet Explorer 4 and above
- Websites are tested on Netscape Navigator 4 and above
- Websites are tested on Screen resolution 800x600 and above
- Spell checking
- Dry run, if programming is used in a website and ensure it achieves its desired output

Q. How will updates, changes and maintenance of my website take place?
Changes are made in two ways depending on the complexity of the website.
For static, more simple websites which do not require frequent updates, where the company does not have a back-end system to be able to edit the website, changes/updates should be sent to Insite Design via email.
For the more dynamic, complex websites which require frequent updating, clients are provided with a fully updatable content management system which allows a site administrator to maintain and make necessary changes in-house without complex I.T, HTML or coding knowledge. These clients are then free to update and maintain their own website, e.g. adding new products, changing prices etc.

Q. What is a domain name and what are the various types of domain names?
Simply stated, a domain name is the address of a website. It will be www.yourcompanyname.com The .com part is the type of domain name.
The 4 top level domains are.
.com: Used for Businesses & Commercial purposes. Mostly companies
and corporations carry this domain name extension
.uk: is the domain for United Kingdom.
.org: An abbreviation for "organisation" Generally these are non-profit organisations.
.net: An abbreviation for 'Network'. in the early days of Internet it was mostly used for scientific and military networks.
.edu: Used by educational institutions like Universities
Apart from these, there are other types of domains like the country domain which indicate that this site belongs to a country. .nz is the domain for New Zealand. A lot of other domain types have been launched in recent times like .info, .name, .biz etc.
